Horsforth JFC Under 9s win Garforth Cup!

Categories Horsforth JFC

Horsforth JFC U9s won the first piece of silverware in the Clubs history by winning the U9s Champions Cup! Coached by Leeds Sports Academy, the club has only been established within the last 3 years.

Played on a magnificent pitch at the West Riding FA, the U9s were superb throughout the match.

The dead-lock was broken mid-way through the first half when the U9s Talisman, James Waters, finished with a magnificent strike to give Horsforth JFC the lead. Taking a 1-0 lead into half-time, the team defended well in the 2nd half. With the score seemingly moving towards a 1-0 victory, a goal was conceded in the 10 minutes before the end to draw the match 1-1.

Straight to penalties! After a calm penalty to give Horsforth JFC the lead, the club was reliant once again on star Goal Keeper, Oliver Parrish. He kept out every Penalty and we ended the match with a famous 3-0 win on spot kicks!

A special mention has to go to the star Goal Keeper, Oliver Parrish – he has now not let a penalty in in an amazing 15 penalties!

To win a cup in only the clubs 2nd ever season is a brilliant achievement. The support of the parents was amazing and the whole day was a joy.

Well done to all who took part and helped throughout the season.

Final Score:

Horsforth JFC 1 -1 North East Leeds (Horsforth JFC win 3-0 on Penalties)
